Splash screen stopped working

Has anyone’s splash screen stopped working after today’s updates?
My apps splash screen stopped working today.

Don’t get me started. My heart is broken! It happened yesterday - the checkbox to use it during loading is gone. If you care, please say so…

We've lost the option to use our custom background during app launch/loading

It was already working like that…my only issue was that when you change backgrounds, it was showing the old image, then the new image…now it shows no image…so it’s a feature that you had that is gone now…Here is a video I made yesterday to report the screen flashing but the solution should not be to just eliminate the custom screen! First you see old screen flash, then in the video where it says signing in is the new screen…but now that part of the sign-in visual is gone…please put it …

If my gif stops working it will be extremely frustrating as I spent half a day to create that brand specific gif.

We have to do that so that all apps made using glideapps don’t appear like cookie-cutter apps.

Where do I express my concern?

Perhaps go to the other thread…and post your comment there! The gif IS ruined for the moment. only works well BEFORE sign in but launch experience is dead until we get this back. It’s unlike me to be so dramatic - but I feel so passionately about this! haha

I am sorry but I am not gonna repost on an alternative thread.

It’s already too much to have to express my concerns for roll back which Glide applied without any notice on its “community”.

If I have to repost, it will be on Twitter.

I appreciate all that Glide team does, but this is unprofessional.

Even Apple doesn’t roll back on features it releases without notice or explaining the reason behind such a decision.

The problem is not the missing gif, it’s the unpredictability of making an app on Glide.

We’re working on finding a place for custom splash screens in the new unified launch flow, we’re sorry they aren’t working right now.

Glad to hear it’s coming back @david. I do agree with @S_C that there should be a certain level of communication from glide if there is a rollback of functionality or a feature.

Sorry David, can you confirm if this feature will be available again and if so any timeline? Custom branding was a key feature to help elevate our apps and it disappearing is of concern.

We’re working on it now, I imagine custom splash screens will return this week or next.
