Legacy Free Plan Update Limit

Hi all,

I just recently discovered Glide while working on a personal project. I created and published an app less than a week ago. I have 5 users (including myself), and yesterday we started getting a message saying, “This team has reached its update limit”.

Being so new I wasn’t aware of the update restrictions, so I began doing some research – and know I am more confused than when I began.

Quick description of the components in my app;

  • Use relation, rollup, and computation columns
  • Also played around with experimental columns; JavaScript, Dates, and Excel Formulas
  • Uses workflows heavily, but obviously only with user interaction
  • Workflows add rows, edit rows, increment values, delete rows
  • Users can edit values of some rows.
  • Used HTML and CSS in Rich Text components
  • Uploaded images

So, I have a few questions;

  1. Even though I made my account less than a month ago, I was automatically given the “Legacy” Free account – is this right?
  2. My usage page is showing a limit of 1000 Updates – aren’t Free accounts limited to 0 updates?
  3. Most confusing to me is how I even used updates in the first place. I am using only Glide Tables, and as far as I could tell that should not be using updates. Does any row change cause an update, even in a Glide Table?
  4. Biggest question; how can I fix this issue? Is there something wrong with my account, or is there ways for me to do my app in a better way?

I’ll attach some screenshots below;

Thanks for the help,

Something is not quite right. The team at Glide has been notified to see if this might be a bug. Hopefully someone from support will reach out to your directly.

Your followup concerns stem from the fact that you are building inside a Legacy Free account.

Matthew, could you create a new team which should automatically be set to the Free plan? If you are successful creating a new team on the Free plan, you should be building your projects in there, not from inside a team on the Legacy Free plan.

@Matthew_Scott

Is it possible you have multiple teams? You can see the team you have by clicking on the name of the active team, a drop down will appear.

I wonder if you have a paid team where you created an app and published it. And then you might have a different Legacy Free team. And you got the two confused?

Nathan,
Appreciate the response. I made a new team, and it is automatically set to “Free” – not “Legacy Free”. Is there a way to transfer my app from the “Legacy Free” team to the “Free” team, to save me from having to rebuild it?

And to answer your other question, I didn’t have multiple teams and never paid for any subscription or got a free trial. Definitely weird.

Thanks again

When you click on the “Family Challenge” app in your Usage Dashboard, what types of update does it show?

For example, in one of my apps, I can view the breakdown like this.

This is what it shows. Not sure if its right that those are using updates. And all thoes edits, added rows, and delete rows are all in Glide Tables.

That’s weird. I don’t have any further input for this. Will ask the team to check again on records.
