Hidden User Addresses - user profile doesn't seem to be working until 2nd sign in by user

Hello!

I’m relatively new to Glide.

I have an APP where I have turned on the Hidden User Address option.

When a user logs in for the first time and they go through the onboarding (which is basically setting a few fields in the Users table to some default values) the values being set in the Users table don’t stick.

If they sign out then sign in again and follow the same workflow, the values stick.

It seems to work fine when I test in the Glide UI going through the Tabs as a user, but on an external device the experience is different.

Equally strangely, but maybe pointing to the problem, the values are being set within the browser on the external device, they are just not hitting the actual Glide database.

So what am I doing wrong!!!

Matthew

By “hidden user address”, do you mean this one?

Yes - that is what I mean

If you can reliably reproduce it, I would suggest talking to the support team.

thanks - I can probably record it quite simply on Loom and ask Glide support for advice.

If you post the Loom here, and show how you have it setup, maybe we can spot something that isn’t obvious to you. Show how things are configured, rather than the behaviour - that’s already clear.

Thanks - will probably do that - sadly I can’t even open the app in go.glideapps.com since last night, I just get a blank screen. I an waiting for help from support on this issue.

Copies of the App are working but I can only publish one App as a Maker and I can’t unpublish the broken App because I can’t get into it!

How long is normal for support to help? I logged the problem with access to my App over 24hrs ago and I still can’t get into it at all.

Can’t say for them, but it always depends on where your ticket is on their backlog.

Just thought I would close this out for now - it looks like there was a bug and engineering have fixed it :slightly_smiling_face: Thank you to them! Now I need to get my head around how I have a complete disconnect from my users from a data perspective, but am still able to contact them with useful information! (The former is the most important as I am collecting financial data and it needs to be anonymised 100%)

Yep - been using anonymous users for a little while and it seems to be working well now. Thank you for your help.
