We have a hard stop here. So many people join the app and say they didn’t receive the introductory email. We asked them to add appuser.io to their safe list, but one user made a VERY good point:
“appuser.io is blocked by default because they are notorious for SPAM content. So asking users to open it up and add to safe list is asking them to accept more SPAM (everything from appuser.io will start filling up their inbox).”
many say they don’t get these emails so we ask them to check their SPAM folder in order to accept emails from so they can continue to get communications from us.
one user said they don’t want to add appuser.io to their safe list because they don’t want spam from this domain. does that make sense?
The reputation of appuser.io isn’t really good.. that is why it goes into SPAM. It can also be invalid DKIM, missing DMARC or even not aligned SPF record.
I would suggest you to remove all the links in the email sent and check if it helps.
The issue isn’t the email itself, when someone clicks on the links in the email - that works just fine.
I’m saying that when someone joins the app, and we have an introductory email sent to them, it comes “From: @appuser.io” and Google gmail and other email apps automatically filter these emails into their SPAM folder. I believe the issue is the domain name is on a watch list.
I’d rather have it set up to come from our own domain, but as I understand it, I need to upgrade to Business to make this happen?
Yes, because you need paid plan to be able to use Gmail Integration and Outlook Integration.
What I also recommend you, is to get something like SendGrid and create a webhook workflow that calls the SendGrid’s API. That way, you will have control on EVERYTHING regarding Email Delivery.
That’s also why you should consider managing your emails domain directly. Something like email.jessie.com or jessie.com with full control of DKIM/DNS records and email deliverability.
And then use this domain for everything email related.
Appuser.io will always land in spam, it’s normal because it’s shared with tons of people.
You can configure alias in your gmail account with your domain. I did that for my maximebaker.com domain in the past before I change to SMTP2GO. But I can show you!
