Unknown User has appeared in Database!

Hi Gliders, I’m on the business plan and I have an app that has been in the wild for a while. It’s for a small company, so has about 10 users and today I noticed a new user with an email address that I do not know has appeared in the user database. The email address for the user is
grey-voice-144@anonymous.appuser.io It was not created by me I have not deleted it yet because I don’t know what in the heck it is but I am very concerned that it’s just appeared out of nowhere
Can anyone give me some advice?


Do you have anonymous emails enabled for your app? Is your app private or public?

Hi @Jeff_Hager I recently enabled the Gmail integration, my app is set to private

Check under Settings-> User Data

In the “User data” section of your app settings, is this selected to “Hide user email addresses”? If so, when users sign up, instead of adding a user with their real email address, it makes a fake one like that one. Could be somebody just randomly found it and signed up? You can just delete it.

Ahhh @fkuk1214 @Darren_Murphy @Jeff_Hager Thank you, nailed it, I had “Hide User email address” selected, I have a feeling that’s the issue, phew thanks everyone :slight_smile:
