Why is Glide calling my Airtable via API?

I haven’t been using Glide in a while, and from the Usage area in Glide, doesn’t look like my apps were used by anyone else lately either. Yet, all of a sudden, the Airtable that’s connected to Glide is reporting crazy API usage. Why would Glide all of a sudden start calling Airtable at such high rate?
This is the table connected to Glide.

And this is the usage reported by Glide for this app

What might be the problem?

Alerted the team to see if they can help with your problem. Do they say in the logs that the API calls all come from Glide?

Do you know where I could look at that? All I’m seeing is the number of API calls, not where they are coming from. It shows Glide here though

Did you turn on the “extra” sync mode?

I don’t think so? Where can I check?

Doesn’t look like it?

Thank you for the info. I will ping the support team again.

After reviewing this scenario, the API usage in question is done by Airtable as it checks for updates in the Glide app. This is outside of Glide’s control and is handled completely by Airtable.

To prevent this API usage in Airtable, you can disconnect your base from your app.

For more information about Airtable API, please check out this doc from Airtable: Managing API Call Limits in Airtable

Why would this start happening all of a sudden? I thought API calls are usually initiated outside of Airtable?

Unfortunately, Glide doesn’t have any special insight into how Airtable manages its API or third-party integrations. I’d encourage you to reach out to Airtable Support to inquire further, if needed.

You can also remove the Glide integration from Airtable’s third-party integrations (click Avatar > Integrations > Third-party Integrations).

If you can provide the App ID for the app in question, we can check our logs to verify things further.
