🆘 [URGENT] No connect custom domain - and Glide creates a new empty app every time I reconnect

Hi Glide Community,
I’m facing a critical issue and I need to deliver a demo today.

:memo: Context:

  • I published my app on a Custom Domain to avoid exposing Glide to my client.
  • After publishing, the app on the Custom Domain never worked (blank screen / won’t load).
  • As a test, I created a copy of the app and published it in Classic mode (*.glide.page) → this version works perfectly.

:scream: Strange behavior:

  1. Every time I reconnect to Glide, the editor:
  • automatically creates a NEW empty app
  • with a default template
  • this happens in addition to my existing app (my original app hasn’t disappeared).
  1. I now have several empty apps being created without my consent.
  2. I can’t deliver the Classic copy because the client would see it’s a Glide app.

:red_question_mark: My questions:

  • Why doesn’t the Custom Domain version work?
  • Why does Glide create a new empty app every time I reconnect?
  • Is this caused by DNS misconfiguration or a bug in Glide?
  • How can I deliver my demo today without exposing Glide?

Assuming that you have a paid plan, I would suggest reaching out directly to Glide Support via the chat bubble in the Glide Builder (bottom right corner). This will get you the fastest response.

I have a paid Maker account, but I don’t see the chat icon. My account must be corrupted.

Check your Account Settings to see if you have opted out of cookies. If you have, that will prevent the support chat bubble from appearing.

I’m French and I had understood the opposite! Thank you so much, the chat bubble is back! You’re the boss!

We’re also seeing a problem with sign in, it creates a new app if we use the log in link on the website.
We’ve bookmarked the URL for our workspace as a fix.

@ludovic_LISON how are you “reconnecting to Glide” when it creates a new empty app for you? Are you clicking “Sign Up” on the main website? Or some other specific button?

@david :white_check_mark: I go to https://www.glideapps.com/, then click “Log in” → “Sign in with Google”. But when I arrive in the editor, Glide creates a new empty app every time I log in.

Ah, yes – the Log in button was using the Sign up link! Fix is deploying in the next minute or so. Thank you.

My main priority right now is the publication issue. My app doesn’t work on the custom domain, and now even the copy on the standard Glide domain isn’t working anymore. I really hope this can be resolved by tomorrow at the latest…

Please contact support in the builder for help with your custom domain.

@david I already contacted support in the builder. We exchanged for about 5 minutes, and then nothing more…

Can you confirm that you have a solution now? Support suggests that your problem might be related to visibility conditions, and not with the custom domain itself.
