System Jam. Page Couldn't Work when Using Search Bar

Hi @ichilddev

Have you sent this in the ticket? If not, add it there so we can have all the information concerning to your ticket in one place.

If you can make a screen recording to show what the issue is, that would be helpful.

Hi @SantiagoPerez Thanks for your reply.

I have replied your email and added your email into the app. The app basically can’t function now. Can’t update anything at all via glidetable, unless key in the data from google sheet. This also breaks the app, as the RowID is not assigned properly.

See here Template Does not Reflect Row ID

Thanks in advance!

@ichilddev - I just had a thought. Is this the same App that I helped you with sorting that joined list? (Employment History). That uses an external code column. I can’t possibly imagine that it’s related - I use the same code column in many of my Apps - but I guess it would be a good idea to eliminate that as a possible cause.

So I’d suggest deleting that column for now, and see if that changes anything. I seriously doubt that it will, but who knows? :man_shrugging:

We can always add it back in once your current issue is resolved.

Hi Darren @Darren_Murphy dont’ think so as we are still able to edit and update records after your addition of the joined list.

Regardless, you may want to disable and then we can check it out?

Okay, I’ve deleted it.

Let me know if that makes any difference. I’ll be shocked if it does.

Hi.

I have added this record

Can be seen in Main page ( 3 items)

Shown in Editor now. Didn’t disappear.

But the Glide Table and Google Sheet does not sync at all.

Observation:

  1. If add a record from Google Sheet, and hit on manual sync, the record is updated in Glide table. But RowID is not valid

  2. If add record from Glide table, no record is updated in Google Sheet, not even doing a manual sync.

hi hi @SantiagoPerez

Some updates:

One of our programmer, who has created the google sheet and later transfer owner ship to us, I have his access rights to the google sheet changed to commentor

Just 5 mins ago, I change it back to Editor, and all the updates we have done via Glide sync and downloaded to Sheet!

How could this happen? I suspect in Glide Table, the access rights wasn’t updated whenever we have updated the Google Sheet’s!

ah, okay. That kind of makes sense now.
What I would suggest is to make a copy of the Google Sheet, and then replace the data source in the App with the copy that you make (Settings → Data → Data Sources)

Just to explain a bit, even though ownership of the Google Spreadsheet might have changed, the original connection to Glide must have been established by the previous owner. So has soon as their edit permissions were removed, Glide could no longer sync with the Google Spreadsheet. Replacing the data source whilst logged in from your own account should fix that.

Do you mean this:

Yes

That’s bad! All the integration using the google sheet with third party apps need to be re-established!

Yeah, I was just about to suggest that. You should be able to just replace the sheet with itself.

So technically, i can remove and add again using the same Google Sheet ID, using our own ID.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Should I check with Glide Support team before doing this replacement, if they have a better solution?

Still awaiting for them to revert on the system sluggishness during office hours.

That’s up to do.
Replacing the sheet is safe enough - as long as the sheet you’re replacing it with is identical to the old one.
