Hello Gliders, I write this topic for a question regarding the feasibility of my project.
An artists directory with the possibility of adding all their creations, connecting with each other and playing games. In just 48 hours, with 40 users, the project reached the updates limit : 4 392
of 2 500 updates for this month
I think moving to a higher plane won’t change the problem but it comes from the number of relations and the number of glides sheet. More than 60 sheets…
I am a new glider, and I believe that this problem could have been limited.
Glide experts, could you give me your opinion? Should I go to the next level, or start again by limiting relationships?
Thanks to the community and creators for this great tool.

It sounds like you have a lot of data and relationships in your project, which is why you have reached the updates limit. We recommend that you review your project and see if there are any ways to limit the number of relationships and sheets to reduce the number of updates. Despite what the bot says, relations don’t have a direct impact on update counts.
Updates happen when you change data, or when data syncs. To get a better understanding of how updates work, I’d recommend reviewing the Updates FAQ.
It’s hard to advise you without knowing how your App is constructed and understanding the various user flows. However, you mention “playing games”. I could imagine that implementing any sort of game play in a Glide App would involve heavy use of User Specific columns and could lead to a high level of updates. So maybe that’s something worth looking at. But that’s just a wild guess. I know nothing about how your App is built.
Thanks Darren for your feedback. I think the app has become very complex in terms of synchronization. Indeed, the games are mainly quizzes, there are many users specific data and increment numbers between various tables. Also, I added many lookups to display information contained in other sheets.
I’m not sure that I have any good advice for you about whether you should upgrade or not. Perhaps you can try and if it doesn’t work out you can always cancel?
Maybe you could try disabling the game play in your App for a few days and see what the impact is on your update count? If you see it drop significantly, then that will confirm where the bulk of the updates are coming from, and so you’ll know that’s what you need to focus on to try and keep it to a minimum.
