User reported this as coming up on their screen… any reason why?
Looks like a message explaining how SMS short codes work. The SMS app is probably assuming that a short code was entered (and issued the message), but in reality it appears that no actual phone number was entered at all.
Thanks Jeff!
Any clue if there a way around this?
I don’t think it’s an Android-specific issue as another Android user reported no such message and I’m an iPhone user and didn’t have an issue.
It’s probably dependent on whichever app is being used for SMS texting. I would have to assume that the message is coming from the SMS app. Not the glide app.
More importantly, you may want to figure out why your glide app is sending the user to the SMS app without a phone number to send a message to. That seems to be the bigger issue, and the most likely cause of the error message from the SMS app.
I’m using it as a mode of referral for users, so they would need to input the number of the recipient.
I don’t know about iOS, but Android users can install and use any SMS app that they want (there are thousands of them). Not every user uses the same app. I can’t speak for whichever app your user is using, but they will have to look into the app’s settings to see if there is a way to turn off that message. Otherwise, I don’t know what to tell you. I don’t think this would be a glide issue.
Thanks Jeff! I’ve figured out a workaround - rather than compose SMS, the user will be able to copy and share the message via whatever means they wish.
Thanks again for your help
