Magic link in PIN email not signing user in correctly

Anyone else having this problem.
if I click on the magic button in the pin email, I do not have the same privileges (admin) and it is happening to my clients too.

Not sure to follow you. Can you make a loom please?

I do not have loom. When I use the magic button my app privileges are different than when I type in the number code.

Loom is free and is a chrome extension.

Does the App sign you in as the same user in both cases?

Actually, I just tested this myself and yes, there is definitely something not right.

@comm_support_agent can we look into this please?

Sign into an App using the magic link from the PIN email, and the issue should immediately become apparent. It almost seems like you are signed in in a state where you are disconnected from your User Profile.

Yes but with different privileges.

I totally agree with you.

Just tried it too and something definitely seems a bit wonky. Will escalate!

Are we talking about too much privileges or less privileges? Like, are data still safe at the moment with row owners?

Less privileges. As I said, it seems like the User is in a disconnected state from their Profile, so they only see data that doesn’t have row owners applied.

When I click on the magic button, it seems to be not connecting to my user data for privileges. So less.

This issue has been escalated to the engineering team. They’re on it and hopefully it gets resolved in the next release.

To mitigate the issue of users not being fully signed in when using the Magic Link, you can temporarily disable the inclusion of a Magic Link in the PIN email settings.
