Hey guys! Experiencing a weird issue where at random intervals a large portion of my images stop loading and show up blank. Both in the table & on the live site.
When this blackout occurs it can be for a few minutes or sometimes 10-15+ minutes at a time.
This only started occurring in the last week or so. It used to be a smaller handful of images that would not load & now it ends up being most of them.
Most of the images are still external public URL’s as I am still in the process of reuploading directly to Glide, but even the ones that are directly uploaded to Glide still get hit with this random blackout.
Eventually all the images come back and load correctly again, but I just experienced this where they disappeared for 10 minutes, came back for a minute or 2 and then disappeared again. Seem to be back now but it’s a bit frustrating.
My immediate thought is that you may have an intermittent network routing issue. One thing to try when this happens is to switch to a different network or connect to a VPN, and see if that makes any difference.
Okay can confirm mobile data doesn’t make a difference. Mobile seems to get hit worse than desktop. All of the images on this page were uploaded via an image picker too. It’s just constantly doing stuff like this via mobile and then I’ll have image blackouts on desktop a couple times a day. It’s getting really frustrating.
Upgraded to the paid plan and that didn’t seem to do anything either. I’m wondering if something may be bugged
Yes. I am using the image picker component in glide.
The issue here is that although the images will work perfectly fine on Desktop and everything loads as intended, there are frequently blackout periods where a random assortment of the images (both image picker images AND URL images) will not load. I call this a blackout. It sometimes can occur for up to 5-10 minutes at a time but eventually will resolve itself. I’ve tried even reuploading a couple of the ones hit in this blackout but that doesn’t seem to matter as its random which images get affected.
On mobile, this occurs more frequently. In fact, most of the time it won’t load all of the images unless I open it in incognito. The app itself also has this issue. Same as above being that this applies to image picker images as well as images loaded in via external URL. Most of the items uploaded as external URL when I first built this website but I’ve since added a ton of images via the built in image pickers and those too are affected. Happens on home wifi + mobile data. Only way to bypass images not loading is via incognito.
