I “fixed” it.
I have a table (based on sheets) with names and images[links to web images] and I have been adding via the ‘edit form’ page copying URLs into the field. Somehow the lookup relation got ‘blown away’ so I recreated the lookup (changed the lookup to a different field and then back to the image) and it worked.
Slightly disconcerting but all is well. Thanks for getting back quickly.
