How To Install a Glide App | Instructional Video

The way you install a Glide app (which is a progressive web app) varies slightly between Android and iOS, and between mobile and desktop.

In short: browser, 3-dot menu, “Install app” or “Add to home screen”

In more detail, the general idea is as follows:

  • In Chrome (whether on an Android phone or a computer), go to the URL of the app or scan the QR code of the app (same thing), then go to the settings menu in Chrome (3 vertical dots), and there in the menu towards the bottom it should say “Install app” or “Add to home screen”.

  • On an iPhone (iOS), go to the URL of the app, then tap the Share symbol (square with arrow going up) and there I believe you should also see “Install app” or “Add to home screen”.

  • On Safari on desktop, I thought one could also click on the Share symbol and install the app from there, but I don’t see the feature on my Mac. I usually work on Chrome.

@nathanaelb , you are right, the chrome menu has the “Install app” option months ago, but I don’t see this option right now. I uninstall my app and then try to reinstall it but I don’t found the “Install app” option or another similar option.

Are you attempting this in an environment that is special in any way, like in incognito mode or behind a VPN?

Don’t you see any download icon to the right in the address bar?

Nope, the same environment. If you can see this option at chrome navigator, then the problem are in my side.

Is this happening on a mobile or desktop device?

In a mobile device. I take a snapshot to show you. The install option appears in this menu but not now
