Transforming to mobile view is shown in the video – did you watch the whole thing?

Transforming from split screens… that i have not seen there… main point of desktop will be to have many sub windows to present more data… right now it just look like full screen single window… which is easy to achieve in regular app

Great

The paid version still shows the glide brand

Currently I find 3 basic errors to page glide:

1.The installation logo is not displayed, only the available logo is displayed

2.Pro Private Page version still shows glide brand

3.User avatar not showing

What do you mean by this?

try downloading the glide page to the mobile version app

Oh yes, there are no controls yet for setting the app icon for the installed version. That will come back very soon.

I somewhat concur, the current tablet view is just a stretched mobile view.

I would like to someday not use my laptop, but work on a tablet…

Being pages fully responsive, what is the advantage of using apps instead of pages ??

Not an expert on this but the Apps are PWA which means they look and feel like a mobile App. You can download the App onto your phone and it seats on your homescreen like a mobile App for easy access. As much as you can do the same (download) with a website(page), I am not sure it offers the same operation as the PWA.
I don’t think you would be able to use “Offline mode” with the Glide pages which is what a PWA offers you.
What I have mentioned are only a few of the things I can think of and the list is by no means exhaustive but I could be wrong as I have already mentioned, I am not a SME (Subject matter expert)

It will be Game Changer!

Excellent! Now I can expand the functionality of my products and offer my clients a complete solution (all in one)! Thank you!

This feature is cool :sunglasses:
Thanks a lot Glide for this new feature  :facepunch:

Thanks for asking! Perhaps a switch from personal-pro-private per app to personal-pro-private subscription? The total cost can include a cost per active user, not per app but overall (so not duplicating if the same users are using an app and page).

My strong preference would be to be able to build unlimited apps and pages at whatever tier we’ve chosen, mostly because I would like to play around with new ideas by creating a new project and possibly do a limited trial with some beta users before launching it for real, and the only way to do that currently is to pay the same cost as if I were launching a full product (since I usually want the test to include “private” features)

Thanks. Yes you can install also pages in your phone. No browser bar appears. Same appearance as an app. Have not tested offline mode but seems no big advantage.

I really do not understand, now, why should we use apps or pay both… apps and pages.

Perhaps, later on, I will understand why 2 products instead of 1…improving desktop capabilities in apps.

In the intro video, David said this is specifically for work purposes e.g. HR personnel who predominantly operate from a desktop and may not necessarily need to be on mobile when they operate the system at work. I believe it caters to both preferences and those who prefer desktop will simply use Glide pages and those who prefer mobile will then opt for Apps but also in the into he does mention that the Glide pages will allow Glide to incorporate more sources maybe SQL or Big Query as those databases tend to be used more by enterprises.

I think we should also understand the main target market for Glide is enterprises that want software solutions without having to pay over the odds. These would mostly be companies that want to create “Dark Apps” Apps not necessarily public facing but rather operated within the enterprise.
Creation of customer facing Apps is not necessarily the main goal e.g “Creating the next Tik-Tok” or something like that.

I must say, I like this type of thinking because it forces us to be problem solvers of real world issues.

This is great! Thank you Glide Team for always improving and create new features that help us to create new exciting things!

Hey Gerard,

The best way to answer this is Apps will focus on an experience that assumes and works best when you on a mobile device. This product will allow us to lean much harder in that direction with apps. A good example of such a feature is barcode scanning, which is an activity you would do with a phone, maybe even a tablet, but I kinda doubt many people are lugging around laptops (or desktops) to scan barcodes.

This is HUGE! Congratulations David and team. So proud of Glide for staying firm on their vision. I love this. However, the only thing that I didn’t like is the limit of rows is extremely less to experiment Glide page. It would be really better to increase the limit of rows to at least 500 and offer a basic version of pages as well like in Glide Apps.
