Note: There was one typo in the email sent to teams with Free Apps and Pages. Barcode Scanner and Signature Pad features are available for Pro team plans and Business team plans, not just Business team plans. Always refer to our Pricing Page for features available for each team plan.
Our mission at Glide is to create a billion new software developers, so we are excited to share our new Free team plan that lets you connect more data sources, try more features, and get the most out of Glide.
This is a major change from how our users build free Apps and Pages today. A free App or Page used to have its own quotas for file storage or zaps. With the new plans, resources like published projects, file storage, and users are shared across your team. Click here to watch Jack explain more about team usage.
Top 3 Things You Need to Know
Projects with existing paid subscriptions will not be affected. Only free Apps and Pages will be migrated to the new Free team plan. Projects with paid subscriptions will continue to have their own quotas (e.g., rows, file storage) and will not count towards team usage.
Eventually, all customers will move to team plans, but we will provide plenty of time to make the switch, instructions for migration, and support to ensure your transition to team plans is a success
The goal of launching team plans is to allow our customers to build more Apps and Pages without worrying about upgrading individual projects. The new pricing model makes Glide easier, more flexible, and more productive
Note: Free Apps in “My Apps” folders will not be migrated on August 1st. Stay tuned for more details on how to migrate these projects.

*Updates are a new concept that we are introducing with team plans. Updates happen when your project’s users add, edit, or delete data and also when changes to your external data source are synced to your project. If your team’s projects start using more than 1,000 Updates, we recommend that you upgrade your team to the Starter team plan. You can read more about Updates here.
Some interesting things, but worried about the new “update” concept, even with the paid plan (x 2500 updates).
I wonder if progressively it won’t lead to use Glide rather for prototyping.
Hope not, we’ll see
It’s me again with some questions on the new plans…(I promise it’s not as hectic as the last thread on the new plans )
I just need clarity this time around…
Can we still create unlimited number of team and thereby having access to free plan within those teams…meaning for example, if I wanted to have 12 published free apps, I can simply create 4 teams and thereby have 3 published free Apps within those 4 teams?
To answer your question, yes, you could create an unlimited number of teams and publish 3 projects per team you create.
You might think, “Well, isn’t that getting around the new team plans?” Yes and no.
Yes, you can theoretically publish an unlimited number of projects, but our primary usage metric is Updates. The idea is that if your team is using more than 1,000 updates (a sign that your projects are useful to you and your users), then you will need to upgrade to the Starter team plan to use your projects even more.
Creating multiple teams doesn’t increase the number of updates each Free team has.
Hi! Im new here and was planning to use glideapps as a base for our small business’ operation management, however, I saw the limitations(updates) that is given to the app owners(us).
For our small business a 2,500 or 10,000 update a month would only last for a week as we have multiple checks from Site > checking > Management (or back to checking) > Finance > and so on.
Would this be changed in the future? What’s your take on this?
Thank you! hoping for your prompt response regarding this matter!
As stated in the original post, this migration will not affect projects in “My Apps” folders, which are the only projects that have referral bonuses. Stay tuned for more details in the future!
If you feel like none of the team plans meets your Updates needs, you can reach out to our Sales team to discuss purchasing prepaid updates. This would allow you to purchase more updates for your team at a discount. You can get in contact by clicking this link
Thanks. This will work for me, I think. I have a half dozen or so apps for hobby purposes. Among them I’ll never have more than 500 updates a month, usually no more than 8-10. How do I move those existing apps into the team folders? I see how to create a Team, but I can’t figure out how to get an existing app into a Team.
Thanks so much. I’m embarressed to say that I kept trying that, but kept missing the dropdown for the Teams (since my project was on the right, the dropdown’s appeared on it’s left, and I just kept missing it).
No, there is no way to customize this message. This is a message to let users know that the Glide team has used all of its updates and needs to upgrade to a higher team plan.
So…because I was building a weekly game on the go…i was testing and editing during the weekdays…just when I realised I have committed far over my limits.
I could have “Unpublish” my page first and do the edit and republish my page when its the weekend of the game.
Am I thinking correctly? Is there a pay as you go to purchase a 1 time Reset? haha
