Which domain provider has the least issues in Glide when adding a custom domain to an app or page?
At LowCode Agency, we use Porkbun and I think we only had issues once (in like 1.5 years or so).
@ThinhDinh I’ve been struggling to set up DNS for Glide app on my Porkbun domain… quick question for you: do you just go through the flow provided by Glide docs? (Copying, hitting continue, and just waiting for DNS update to happen) or do you do anything within the Porkbun site itself?
Also, is the dns field: ‘data’ within glide, the same as porkbun’s ‘answer’ field?
Thanks so much!
@eltintero sets up most of the DNS-related things on our side. He might be able to help.
make sure to go through the instructions, but if you’ve used the domain for something else, make sure you don’t have any conflicting DNS settings. If you share a screenshot of your DNSs I can tell you where the issue is at, if any. Porkbun is the fastest and it usually take 5-15 mins to propagate.
@Darren_Murphy Thanks for chiming in!
Here’s what the bottom two say:
Top info icon just says record not found yet.
How can I delete one of the duplicates? I don’t see that functionality on the screen…
Click on those little red info icons next to each record to get more information about why it is red.
But, it looks like you have duplicate A
records. You should delete one of them.
Have you added the TXT
record to your DNS zone records?
Regarding “Have you added the TXT record to your DNS zone records”
I tried but wasn’t sure if I was doing it correctly… I am using Porkbun and only have these options…
Not sure what corresponds to what… Is ‘Answer’ field the same as the data field in Glide?
You should delete it in your Porkbun host records.
Also, it looks like you have the incorrect IP address configured in Porkbun - so you need to fix that as well.
I’m not familiar with Porkbun, but my guess would be yes. The data value needs to be entered as part of the zone record, and that seems to be the only obvious place for it.
That helped!
Have you ever seen this before?
It’s what I see when I type in the domain now into my browser…
That’s interesting.
Do you have two green ticks on your Glide Custom Domain screen now?
When you make changes, it can take a while to propagate (usually less than an hour). This error might be still being triggered by the previous (incorrect) IP.
As long as you have two green ticks, you should be fine. I’d just give it a while.
I do have the two green ticks. Sounds good, thanks so much, Darren!
