All custom domains fail to resolve

Is anyone else experiencing an outage when accessing their app through the domain?

This is the second time it’s happened to me this week.

Are the Glide dev team currently working on updates or maintenance?

What may be causing this outage?

We’re looking into this issue now.

  1. Please post or DM me a list of domains that aren’t working.
  2. Roughly how long had these domains been working?
  3. Had you made any changes to them recently?

I can’t see to PM you.

Hi Marcel,

Thanks again for your prompt reply.

This issue was first reported on July 10th, and unfortunately, it has reoccurred today, with several users confirming they are affected again. I’m actively monitoring it and will provide further updates if it happens again next week.

However, right now my domain is completely down and has been unreachable for over 3 hours. This is causing major disruption to our users and business operations.

Please investigate this as a priority and let me know what’s causing the issue and whether there’s a long-term fix to prevent further outages.

Looking forward to your urgent response.

Best regards,

Hope

My application is also in the same situation. My domain does not open and that is causing problems in my operation.

I can’t seem to be able to Privatetly msg him.

I changed my settings to allow DMs now.

We’re aware that some custom domains are not resolving to their app. A temporary workaround is to use the URL assigned by Glide (ex, my-prod-app.glide.page)

If you haven’t subscribed to Glide’s status page updates, you should do so.

Here’s the incident for this issue:

We understand the issue and are working on a resolution. Watch the incident status for updates.

Thank you for your patience!

Status update:
Glide is working with an upstream service provider that is experiencing an issue.

I don’t need anymore custom domain URLs. We understand the core issue and are waiting for updates from the service provider.

The app connected to the custom domain managed through Squarespace has been inaccessible since this morning (KST), and the impact is severe. Transactions with over 1,000 businesses have been halted, and our operations have been paralyzed for more than 7 hours. We urgently request a prompt resolution to this issue.

Any updates on this?

Its really bad, makes Glide look like an amateur to be honest.

The root cause may not be a Glide issue, it maybe with the service provider, and as the web gets more “Webby” these things will be prone to existence unfortunately.

To resolve the issue, we now have another IP address you can point your A record to. Sign in to your DNS provider’s site and update the A record for your domain to point at 172.67.20.230. Our service that manages custom domains will take a little while to see the change, but it’ll eventually resolve.

You do not need to make changes to your custom domain configuration in the Builder environment, and this is a permanent change. You won’t need to go back and update later.

Please be patient waiting for the change to apply.

This worked instantly for my .com at (Godaddy) — thank you for resolving the issue!

Like I mentioned, this seems to happen every 6–7 days, so I’ll keep an eye on it next week to see if it happens again.

I’ve updated the IP address on the A records for all of my Glide / SquareSpace domains. Will keep you posted on whether or not it propagates!
