Black screen when opening apps

Clients have been complaining today for the first time in 2 years that some of their apps are just showing a black screen when they open them, thankfully it still works in Microsoft Edge and other browsers, however most of them only want to use chrome and its where they originally downloaded it from.

Has anyone experienced this and is there an easy fix?

I’ve noticed this on three apps I have and even when opening the Community. Luckily, after closing and reopening the app it seems fine. I would report this though if you have client apps that are critical

Were seeing this on ALL of our apps when opening on Android phones. Works fine on iPhones. What is going on Glide Team?

UPDATE: For some reason we had to remove the old install and re-install it to our phones (Android). That can’t be the resolve for all of our Users of our production apps.

One of my users had this as well last week. Close the app (and Quit!!), then restart and that should probably fix it (worked for my user) without the need for a reinstall

I’m asking the team if they know what the reason is for this behavior.

I am noticing this on android devices as well, does anyone have an update? I can access the app if I use chrome to go to the actual app address, but after “install” it doesn’t work.

Apple IOS devices appear fine running Chrome and “installed”. Certain Android (android 13) devices that I have tested aren’t working. I’ve cleared Chrome cache complete, rebooted, “reinstalled" app etc. But nothing appears to help currently. AI Support says “This is a known issue with PWA on some operating systems”. But yet everything has been working fine until yesterday.

My app has been working fine for a very long time, but now fails to load and displays a blank screen.

If I press the Back button on the phone and then relaunch the app, it starts correctly.

I have tried clearing the app and browser cache.

I am using the free plan, and my data source is Google Sheets.

I have also tried reducing the amount of data in my Google Sheets.

Any ideas, please?

I am having the same problem with a paid app and a free app. Blank screen when I open using the desktop icon, but opens normally if I type the app address in.

Some of my mobile app users are experiencing issues to load the app on their mobile phones. The app is running fine on website version, as well as on mobile phones that is running Android 16 and above. One of my users that is experiencing the issue is having his phone running on Android 12. He didn’t face any issue running the same app from at least 2 years ago.. Is there any upgrade recently made by glide that makes the app to no longer compatible to Android 12 and lower?

update. The other user that is running on Android 15 is also having issue.

and several others — all with the exact same problem.

When I switch to a different browser, the issue is temporarily resolved.

Same problem here; it started about 3-4 days ago.

It occurs with apps installed on Google Chrome and Android.

A mi me pasa lo mismo, tengo una app y en 4 años ningun problema de este tipo, desde hacer 3-4 dias la pantalla se queda en blanco, la tengo publicada en 2 maneras para los clientes.
Una es mediante el enlace se hace una instalacion en Iphone, que hasta ahora ningun usuario me ha reportado ningun error, pero los de android si que me estan comunicando que la pantalla se les queda en blanco y para que funcione la tienen que reiniciar hasta 4 veces, despues de un rato al volver a iniciarla les vuelve a pasar lo mismo.
la segunda opcion es que la app PWA la tengo encapsulada en una platarforma que genera un archivo .apk que instalan en Android, tambien les sigue pasando lo mismo, la diferencia es que esta plataforma me deja la opcion de actualizar el inicio de la app desplazando la pantalla hacia abajo, de esta manera se refresca mas rapido y funciona a la primera.
Por favor una solucion lo antes posible.
