I donā€™t need the barcode scanner at the moment, but when, 100 scans is nothing.

Only 100 with a Pro App? Thats a rip off. We already have a free way to do this using an API, I donā€™t see many of us using this if we have to pay for scans. The staging shows non pro @ 10 scansā€¦

Hi, I am considering to add QR code scanning capability. May I know

  1. what is current status of native QR code reader capability within glide
  2. I saw on my pro-app that I can have up to 1000 barcode scansā€¦Is this the same as QR code?

Kindly advise latest options available in glide.

  1. Not possible. You have to do one yourself. I hope we get one in the future
  2. No. It is linear barcode 1D - where QR codeā€™s is 2D

QR code scanning has been in staging for a long time, but I donā€™t know if there are any immediate plans to release it to production. So for now, no, there isnā€™t any native ability to read QR codes. Only linear barcodes. If and when itā€™s released, I would assume it would have the same 1000 barcode usage limit.

@Mns_Glide you need to build your own QR code reader if you need one. As Jeff is mentioning there is no native QR scanner at the moment.
