Add App to Homesceen

I suspect that’s because the former is an embedded browser instance

Just adding to this, not really related to what he asked originally but since last year I have always avoid sending Glide app links via email or Facebook. If I enable Google sign in then that’s almost guaranteed a bad experience when they can’t sign in.

I think it’s the same thing you mentioned, an “embedded browser” from Gmail/Facebook. Not sure what’s the technical term for it.

so - how would you best notify users of an updated app or indeed as I am going to do soon a new app?
I can’t email the URL to existing users as they have Anonymous email addresses…

I would add a text telling them to copy this link (add an action) and open them in their Safari/Chrome browsers just to be safe.

Why didn’t you make the changes in your old app?

Thanks
I made many, many changes, plus I moved over to a new Gmail account I also wanted to allow then to run the two side by side for a while just in case there were any bugs…
I just find it odd thought that the link to a phone from Glide does not appear the same as the same from within an email…

Ok
My fix -
Set up a button to send an email to me…
In Gmail I have set up auto response that sends an email back with the URL to the app !

For posterity — we would add this button to apps if we could, but it is managed by the browser and OS, and beyond our control.
