Thank you so much.
i did that you said, and i can get images’ individual link.
but i don’t know about this problem.
‘make’ says link parameter has a promlem
i think that there is no problem.
it’s succed!
by this step on zapier.
The problem seems to be that the “Joined list” is sended to “zapier” or “make” through a web hook and they do not recognize it as a link. Is there any solution?
If you are sending a Joined List to Make, you should run it through an Iterator module and split on comma.
It’s hard to tell from your screen shot, but is it actually a comma separated list?
Can you show me the output bundle of the first (Glide) module?
oh my god, i missed.
it works.
thank you for your kindness.
Full screen width interface, on wide screen is a lot of spacing blank space on sides
-
flowchart generation on how data flows/is connected throughout tables (for better understanding/brainstorming)
-
local communication (apple shortcuts intergration, for nfc use)
-
hyperlink open tab/change data from nfc tag
-
import template from store into existing app
-suggest where to keep human interaction between users of app instead of glide app
-ChatGPT call about data information
-detect function of feature that customer chooses to use + goal company-> make suggestion how ai can help (example: feature=chat, use=communication between company and client, goal company=makes automisation solutions, ai helper suggest: “would you want this hint feature that says if you mis any requirements for project, create and keep a checklist for the items that need to be completed, suggest communication strategies, notice certain behavior that’s detrimental to goal/company/client?)
UI Calendar update
-
multiple month view
-
limit visible days (exclude weekends)
Chart
- go to detail screen when clicked on chunk of donut chart
If possible
-
Run on private/local servers?
-
automatic create columns and interface based of needs of user (easier to make software in glide) (maybe use that flowchart idea, to communicate to user quickly if the suggested ai solution would fit his use case ‘whimsical.ai & ChatGPT intergration’)
hi,
I think that access to tables that are storing elements of application would be great.
If I’d developed everything as red and now someone wants green it will be just find and replace.
and also it would be easier to copy parts of application
Three things in the Wishlist
1.SOC-2 Compliance
2. Fed Ramp Certification
3. Glide User Table ability to create user types other than your own user type to allow for more admin functionality.
Here is my list of various issues I’ve ran into while working on migrating my Classic App to a New App. I keep this post updated as I find new things.
- Custom container sizes
- Custom image size
- Ability to copy/paste components and data between apps
If you want to get really wild and crazy then
- Option to export as file for submission to app store
- Bring back CSS, even if it’s not supported
Please!
Go for this one first:
- batch actions (perform actions over multiple rows)
A little more features wishlist
SEO, embedding and security
- SEO settings for all pages/screens
- Allow embedding so it’s easier to embed forms on websites
- Array/lists as row owners and column owners really need to be a thing if before the two features above become a reality
- Row owners should be able to be the user’s Row ID because if set to the email or the role, the user will lose access to multiple rows when there is an update to it’s role or email address.
Speed
- Quicker loading and startup speeds for apps with lots of rows and calculations. (Merging glide tables and big tables)
Components, features and improvements
- Timer
- Some sort of tabs component to switch context without changing screens
- Slidable components: slide left/right on list items to reveal actions
- Actions on toggle with switch/checkbox components
- Possibility to have larger images in choice component
- Possibility to easily add certain details to each image/files in the multi image/file column
- Actions on link components rather than just open link
- More layout components. Having multiple complex information on a single screen can be hard to achieve as Glide components have lots of spacing and large fonts. Sometimes for complex apps you really need lots of informations on the same screen and having a denser screen would be useful
- Conditions based on distance
- Better chat: send attachments like files, pictures, videos and docs. Reactions and replies
- Animations and transitions, nothing fancy but just a couple of available animations with customized timers for components would be awesome. Ex.: if component visibility changes it would have smooth transition from one state to another, adding/deleting/updating list item could show smoothly, on page load/transitions, etc.
- Conditions groups to have multiple and AND or conditions for actions. Ex: (this AND this) OR (this AND this)
- Not just scheduled actions but better triggers like: when X happens, while doing X, if X is before/after, etc. Just manually scheduling is really not enough, there needs to be automations possibilities
- Better integrations reliability ex.: Google calendar sync doesn’t work well at all and often doesn’t retrieve the event ID so the integration needs to be done via Zapier or Make
- Enlarge image/video, open pdf
- Actions on drag and drop kanban items. Right now it updates only one field and can only be turned off and not be customized.
- Ability to trigger compound actions when adding/dragging new events on the calendar even if advanced actions is enabled.
- Custom calendar events colors.
- List data from API calls
- Add/remove item(s) from list in a single action (without having to use trebuchet method)
- Community custom code column. Code developers could add custom coded features and this column could do many features like calculating a mortgage payment and interests, etc.
- Long press and double tap actions
- On focus change actions: change UI and/or trigger action when changing entry fields
- Ability to EASILY create deeplinks.
- More charts and better customization (colors, data schemes, etc.)
- Better horizontal lists
- Clickable big numbers and also not having to use 3 or more to show 2 horizontal numbers on mobile. I’ve always found this weird looking
- Ability to search across all tables (global search)
- Better push notifications customization (image, title, etc. Right now you can only customize the message. Add deep linking or else it’s pretty useless. Ability to trigger them via the API
- In-app ability to filter by timeframes without creating user table columns and buttons.
Styling
- Definitely more granular styling controls with more colors, fonts, rounding without having to play with custom css
Glide platform
- I mentioned this previously but offering agencies a way to charge customers for apps they build would be a game changer. Right now it’s possible using stripe or payhere but it really isn’t optimal. Having Glide handle all payments, taking a percentage and giving the agency the balance would be the best case scenario. It would save us from setting up complex apis. It would also mean the customer would not have to create an account to access his stripe/paybere portal, everything would be accessible in their app.
Connectivity and native features
- I don’t know if this is possible for web apps like Glide but having the possibility to connect to bluetooth devices like native apps do. Ex.: controlling lightbulbs in a house and thermostats.
- Connect to wearables like smartwatches
- Native features ex.: being able to add a photo/file to a certain part of the app from the native device sheet like you would be able to do by sending pictures from your camera roll to someone on WhatsApp or fb messenger.
- Publish to app stores
Builder
- Universal precreated data tables that could be easily added to the data editor or any project: Month names, day names, week numbers, measurements, durations, temperatures, speed units, etc.
- Some way to add tables and/or columns from the app. I know it sounds like it defeats the purpose of having a custom app but to sell software to a large audience this would be helpful to help customers customize their apps easily. Ex.: adding custom fields in a CRM. Right now it’s possible but it needs to be precreated columns hidden from the user unless they activate it. It means there is a fixed/max number of custom columns available.
Oh yes: session variables
I agree with everything Jeff said and the builder has got to keep from refreshing in the middle of development!! It is worse than annoying. It is a critical issue. Imagine yourself in Texas and you finally got the room down to 70 degrees. Then the room resets to 73 degrees. That is the only analogy I can think of.
Oh yes.
I have a feature suggestion that I believe would greatly benefit international Glide app builders. My proposal is to introduce a preset default language for every Glide app.
Currently, we design our apps in a single language, aiming for consistency. However, if a user’s phone has a different default language, the app ends up displaying multiple languages. This can lead to confusion and a less streamlined user experience.
By allowing us to set a default language for our apps, Glide can ensure consistency in the app’s language, regardless of the user’s phone settings. This feature would be a fantastic addition, enhancing the usability and appeal of Glide apps in international markets.
Looking forward to 2024
At the tab level, the style section on the right is a landmine. Anytime the developer changes the style, all components on the screen get cleared with no warning.
Wish: I wish this style section simply weren’t there. It does not serve a purpose anymore. In fact it’s confusing. All tabs could be custom only, there is no reason for these other styles since they are available when configuring a collection component. This section seems to be a legacy feature from Glide Classic apps which are now deprecated.
(Alternative wish: At the very minimum there could be a warning overlay telling the developer that all components are about to be cleared.)

We’ll keep it open until the end of the week. Then I’ll need to zip through and summarize for the rest of the team. Thanks for all the contributions!
What a thread!
Most excited about: Time-based actions and Push Notifications!
