White topbar on iOS 26

Description

  • When I open my application on my iPhone (14 Pro, iOS 26.0 Developer Beta), the page is no longer full screen but displays a white top bar. It was working well on previous iOS versions.

How to replicate

  • Download iOS 26.0 Developer Beta.
  • Go to your Glide app on Safari and create a shortcut by clicking on “Add to home screen ”.
  • Open your new shortcut (it should open like a native application).
  • Look at the topbar: it should be black or white

I guess it’s an Apple thing.

I’m not sure how Glide would treat reports from early beta versions like this. I would wait until more stable releases to see if it’s a permanent thing.

@ThinhDinh I wonder if the new OS (with the Liquid Glass design) hasn’t changed the way Progressive Web Apps are loaded. So I wanted to inform Developers of this change.
