I just spent a couple of days building a proof of concept that I intended to share with some friends and family to get feedback on an idea before I build it for real.
The usage page clearly says I can have up to 10 users, yet publishing is disabled unless I have a paid plan, which apparently was a recent change that I was only able to find after searching through the community announcements about this issue. So I’m left feeling like this tool has scammed me out of valuable time, and I’m trying to very carefully read the features in the paid subscriptions and I can’t for the life of me work out what I actually need.
I wanted to get signups for a week and then run a live test for two weeks then finally analyze the data afterwards. But from the pricing page I can’t even see if I will be able to export all of the data. The lack of Clarity is making me feel like I’m just going to do all this work and then lose a bunch of data if I pause the payment plan. Or even if I pay, I might not be able to export the data anyway. Can anyone clarify this for me?
At the very least, you can export your data as CSV (table by table) on any plan. This can be automated on paid plans via workflows or the Glide API.
As a long time user, I can assure you that Glide is very much not a scam.
Yes, it is a relatively recent change, and it’s possible that the Glide Docs have not caught up with the change. Would you mind providing a screen shot and/or link to the page where you saw that 10 users are allowed on the Free Plan? I can help bring this to the attention of somebody that can correct it.
Your frustration is understandable: the information displayed in the dashboard is not up-to-date (thank you for sharing the screenshot) and the information on the pricing page could be clearer.
Your feedback was shared internally.
I’m not 100% sure of the following, hopefully someone else can chime in. If you need to switch to a paid plan to show your app, you can upgrade to a paid plan only on the days you need it. On the days you don’t need the app to be published, you can downgrade the plan to free and Glide will credit your account with any credit you would have left in the 30-day window for the month. Again, I’m not sure this information is correct.
It still shows 10 users on this page, but not the pricing page. I can attest when I originally signed up to test the service out a few months ago, one of the bigger contributing factors was having a few users be able to help me test. I have since purchased a yearly subscription and am loving it so far!
Hey folks! Thanks for the feedback and thanks for trying Glide. We have a free trial of our Business plan, and a generous refund policy, so there are many ways to try Glide before paying. I highly recommend trying the Business trial because you have access to all features—trying on the Free plan is very limited.
Apologies for the confusion, Adam! We updated the published apps quota, but we neglected to update the Users quota on the Free plan in the product. The Pricing Page was up-to-date, so I recommend checking it out for full details
I updated the Users quota in the product to match our Pricing Page
