I have a need to have 5-6 private users for a small application. Are there any other options other than the $99 / month as this is too expensive for my needs unfortunately.
How do you define a private user?
You can have up to 10 personal users on the Free Plan.
I am using the user table to define an admin and 5 other users. Each need to login to see information that is pertinent to them only. Do I only need personal users for that?
I am quite confused by what is a personal and what is a private to be honest
Follow the link that I gave you in my previous reply. It explains what personal users are.
Essentially, as long as your 6 users will not be using “business” email addresses, then you will be able to do what you want with the Free Plan.
I had a read at the link you sent me which makes sense however, my app is stil set to Private and uses a users table to define who can access the application.
The way I read the info was that, as long as the users don’y have business email address, I can have up to 10 users however, when I create users and ask them to log in, it’s creating private users and I have a maximum of 3. Am I doing something wrong?
Sounds like you are on the old free plan.
try to open a new account and move your app there
join my webinars so we can solve it together:
Is there an easy way to detemine what plan I’m on? and how can I create a new acccount using my existing email address?
Go to your Glide Dashboard and look at your Team Name at the top left. Just underneath it you will see which plan you have.
It says Legacy free. I take it I can just change it from there?
I’m concerned I lose my projects.
No, you won’t lose any projects. But be sure you understand the difference between the legacy and new free plans before you make the switch.
Can I create a new account using different credentials and copy my projects to ensure there’s no detriment?
Just create new team. Then make a copy!!! THE COPY table!!!
And move those copy to your new team and your app became newest free plan and you keep original one on legacy free team. We are talking not about Classic app but about pages app
Most of my projects are linked to google sheets so I guess I am going to lose that when I transfer to another team.
You can try on copy. Glide will make a copy of Google sheet. Then you can replace with production table. I remember some topic about it in this forum
Before you do something on production, try on copy
I’ve had a look. It takes a copy. That is no good for some of my projects as the data is edited in google sheets and syn’d with my apps.
There is no good solution for me here other than the paid option but I have very few apps and a handful of users so the price tag is a bit steep for my needs
Yes, it makes a copy, but you can replace the copy with original Sheet after moving. But unfortunately, if you use Google so new free plan does not support it. In this case much easier is to upgrade to Maker for 49$ a month
You won’t lose anything. I have multiple copies of my app all using the same Google sheet in different teams and they all work together and stay in sync.
Duplicate the app, but keep the same sheet. It will be fine. You do not need to copy the data (google sheet). The duplicate app can stay linked to the original google sheet.
