I have a “dark” app. There are about 40 members in the organization, all need access to this application. One member just tried to log in and received a message that says the max number of team members has been reached. We are using the Legacy Free version. I know of another organization which uses this same Glide version and has not run into this issue. All users are listed in the Users table along with their email address.
Do I need to set up a “team”?
Have you checked the usage dashboard to verify if you’ve reached the monthly user usage limit?
Hi Maxime,
The application was built by someone else who is no longer available.
Just searched the number of users/limit. Looks like for the free version it’s 3 private and 10 public users? If this is correct, then I guess I need to upgrade to add users – right?
What’s the difference between public and private users.
The new free plan is 2 editors and 10 personal users (not business email addresses).
If you meant personal and business users, check this post:
The concept of public and private users only exists in older legacy plans. A user is considered private either when the app is set as private or you use Role functionality for those users. However, that concept no longer exists with the current plan structures.
You can read up on legacy plans here and use it as a comparison to the currently available plans on the glide pricing page.
I seem to have only Private Users. Others who try to sign in and are in my user list are not allowed because the log in limit has been reached. How do I change users from Private to Public?
If you want users to be considered public, change your app to Public and make sure you do not use Role functionality for those users.
The alternative is to upgrade to the current free plan. The best way to do that is to make a new team in your account, duplicate your app, and transfer the duplicate to the new team folder. Make sure you understand the differences between old plans and new plans as there are a few that may or may not work in your favor. That’s why I recommend duplicating your app and transferring the duplicate so you can see if it works for you without losing your old plan.
