It would be great to have a note section in Glide’s column header so that we can recall what’s the purpose of the column and which buttons, tabs, etc. does the column feed.
Sometimes it gets so frustrating to remember the purpose of Glide columns considering some of these (such as relations, lookup, and template) don’t sync back to GSheets where one can keep notes.
I’ve requested this in the past as well…and PLEASE Clone Data columns.
I think it would help to at least be able to show a list of components and other columns that use a particular column. Just yesterday I tried to delete a glide column and it said that it couldn’t because it was used elsewhere. It took me a long time to figure out where the “elsewhere” was. Same with syncing after you delete a column that’s used somewhere in the app. It will tell you which columns are still being used, but not where to find them. I have a lot of screens and interconnected sheets, so deleting a column is nerve-wracking sometimes. Any easy way to track would definitely help.
I know this is an old thread - and the ‘where used’ is extremely useful.
But I would still love to have the ability to add some Notes meta-data to columns to describe the column purpose. I end up creating column names that try to explain but it is unwieldily.
Until this feature is released, column naming and grouping are your friends.
