I think the auto sync seems to be working correctly today. I’ll wait and see if it continues tomorrow, but it seems it’s been fixed. If so, thank you for working on this! Just in time, as my app is college basketball related, and it’s nearly March Madness!
That’s a nice use case
Thanks! I pull in boxscore data for all teams each night and then my app calculates and shows score predictions of upcoming games, or any matchup the user chooses. I’m a bit of a nerd. haha
That’s the energy I love. I play Fantasy NBA so I always love numbers.
Do you have some teams/players to watch for this March Madness? Haven’t been following really closely. Dalton Knecht? Reed Sheppard?
Those are certainly two great candidates. I love Knecht, he’s a beast. I focus more on the team analytics though, not individual players. Right now my top 4 teams are Houston, Purdue, Arizona and Uconn, but that’s probably not that different from the AP rankings. lol
I also make a spreadsheet each year for coworkers who don’t know much about basketball, which will take the tourney bracket and simulate it as many times as you choose, then show the percentage of the time each team advanced to each round, and the most likely final results. It helps those who don’t pay attention to compete in the office tourney pool.
I have the same exact problem in my app. Now I have to remake my app (at least my data saved). I think that the reason this happens is that Glide changed its plans so that Google Sheets is not free. Is there someway they could fix this to reward long-lasting customers? Umm…
Good luck with your app! If you are restarting over again I recommend downloading your Google Sheets data and then importing it into the same app or a new one under Glide Tables.

Hi, I am now seeing exactly the same symptoms. This started happening in my very simple app about two to three weeks ago. My work around is to manually sync but clearly this is not ideal. Am I right in thinking that a fix came through last March as the thread dried up around then. Could the same issue have reappeared after a plan upgrade? Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks.
I’ve been seeing this too recently.
There was a fix last March, but things have changed since then. It’s my understanding that with recent changes from Glide, legacy free plans will no longer auto update from Google Sheets. Along with that, any new apps created with a free plan can’t be used with Google Sheets or Excel at all, only with Glide tables. The only thing we can do as free users with our existing apps is to click the manual sync button in the browser interface whenever we need to update it. They’ve basically left free users out in the cold. I’ll be looking for other options for my apps, as mine are hobbies and for entertainment, I can’t afford to pay for a different plan.
Thanks for the update. I too am more of a hobbyist, however that said, I am also a Director at my golf club and we had been considering using Glide to front end a bunch of data collection spreadsheets. The pricing on their Business plan might work for businesses wanting to create commercial apps however it certainly won’t work for us. A real shame, as it used to be a great platform. I will now also be looking for an alternative platform both for myself and my golf club.
I don’t know if anybody from Glide reads these posts however it would have been nice if these changes could have been communicated ahead of implementation, thereby giving people an opportunity to look at either Glide Plans or alternatives.
