It's the simple things that make me happy (as you know)

In a next life I hope to be a spreadsheet wizzard as some of you are, but in this life what makes me happy is giving non technical people a first start with Glide. In the past month I had 30 people learning to build stuff. Some built apps, other podcasts, others shops etcetera. Two examples that make me smile:

  • A woman with Parkinson working really hard to make an app about the neighbourhood in which she grew up decades ago. With the stories of her youth. For the people that lived there as well. Personally relevant and relevant to a small group, but so important.

  • An intern in a museum that made an app for an exhibition with images, text and the artist explaining the art in audio. Plus: physical cards with QR-codes so the visitors can ‘download’ the app on their phones.

Simple but relevant, that’s my niche

Thank you Glide!

Have a look (in Dutch)

Very inspirational story, @erwblo.

The museum app is really nice. The intern has a bright Glide future.

I always say ‘im not a teacher but you can learn a lot from me’ and to be honest i’d never thought I’d like this so much. Of course it’s all people who choose to do this, that makes a difference

Next week I’ll start with 10 people that work for ‘de Melkweg’, one of the main pop and rockvenues of Amsterdam. De Melkweg is closed now and the people working there get the opportunity to learn stuff from their boss.
