I’m so happy to share Glide 2.0 with you today. This is the result of a year of feedback from our awesome community, lessons from thousands of customers, and the joyful work of the entire Glide team. Check out our post on Product Hunt.
(As community members, you are our most engaged users and are likely familiar with most of the features of Glide 2.0 already. We’ve put this summary of recent changes together to encourage people who haven’t seen Glide in a while to revisit it, or to try it for the first time.)
Headline Features of Glide 2.0:
Redesigned App Builder —we completely redesigned our app builder so you can build apps for larger screens and more easily work with data.
Tablet Layout —apps now feel more natural on more devices. This large-screen layout works on laptops, desktops, and the web. Teams —create a team and add unlimited collaborators, for free.
Action Editor allows you to build multi-step action sequences with logic-based branching.
Glide Tables , our first data source beyond Google Sheets, is faster and more scalable than Google Sheets. You can still build apps using Google Sheets, but now they’re optional.
10x Faster Data Editor —our built-in spreadsheet editor is much faster and fully open-source.
Try Apps for Work—we worked with our business customers to build apps specifically for their needs, and made those apps free for anyone to copy. Copying one starts a 14-day trial of Glide’s business tier, no credit card required.
There are many other improvements to apps, team collaboration, and templates. Visit glideapps.com/2.0 for the full list. We hope you enjoy Glide 2.0, and build an amazing app for work, for good, or just for fun
Thank you!
David & The Glide Team
PS: Our focus for the next year is to enable more data sources like Excel and Airtable, and to significantly improve our web & desktop layouts.
