I lost all my apps and data — Asking for advice and help

Hello Glide Community,

I would like to ask for advice and share my experience as a team member who made a mistake I didn’t expect earlier this year.

I was a member of a team called “Nub (Update)” on Glide. I was not the team owner or involved in billing. I joined the team through a YouTuber who invited members to join for access to Business-level features. I paid this person directly (not to Glide) because I believed it was a proper channel and that I would get full access.

Recently, there was a billing problem with the team (which I was not involved in, and I didn’t know about any violation). Glide suspended our access immediately, and soon after, the team and my account were deleted. As a result, I lost all my apps and data—even those I built myself that were unrelated to the team.

It felt like pure bad luck, and I was really saddened by what happened. I tried to contact Glide support by email, explained my situation, and sent them evidence, but it seems they decided I was at fault. I was just a team member, truly trying to build something good, and I was willing to pay for one month of the business plan just to recover my apps. However, support never gave me that chance.

Losing all my work has made it hard to enjoy creating again. I had 26 apps in Glide, used by my company’s staff and customers. The loss caused damage to the business and to my own motivation, and I still haven’t found the courage to start again.

I regret that I couldn’t protect my work, and I realize now that I should have subscribed directly through Glide (though I never intended to violate any rules). I just thought that team sharing was allowed, and the YouTuber seemed very credible with their promotional content.

Here is my story, and I would like to ask the community:

  • Is there still any way for me to recover my apps or data?
  • Does Glide ever keep backups after accounts are deleted?
  • If some of my templates still exist, is it possible to copy or move them to my new team?

Any advice or help from the community would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.

Fellow user here.

Checking Glide’s Terms of Service, I think you and that YouTuber violated these terms.

12. Cost of Services

Glide’s Terms specify that users must create accounts with accurate information and are responsible for their own accounts. More importantly, all payments for Glide’s paid services must be made directly to Glide, not to third parties. The relevant section is:

“If you are using a free version of the Services, we will notify you before any Services you are then using begin carrying a fee, and if you wish to continue using such Services, you must pay all applicable fees for such Services… By choosing to use Paid Services, you agree to pay us, through the Glide Account Payment Processor, all charges at the prices then in effect for any use of such Paid Services in accordance with the applicable payment terms, and you authorize us, through the Glide Account Payment Processor, to charge your chosen payment provider (your ‘Glide Account Payment Method’).”

Paying a YouTuber directly, rather than Glide, bypasses this process and was likely considered to be a violation.

20. Restrictions on Use

This section further prohibits using the service in a way that competes with Glide’s business or redistributes access:

“You agree not to use, transfer, distribute, or dispose of any information contained in the Services in any manner that could compete with the business of Company… you may not monetize or offer any part of the service for sale or distribute it over any other medium… without the prior written consent of Company.”

By paying a third party for access, the YouTuber was effectively reselling Glide’s services, which is not allowed, and joining such an arrangement is also a violation.

Based on those violations, I think there’s no way you can recover your apps or data, since those are included in the team that violated the terms.
