Hi need your help need to delete few tables that i am not using but couldnt find delete options.
Please help!
From your screenshot, you seem to be on an older version of Glide. Just to confirm, are the sections in the builder ‘Data’, ‘Layout’, ‘Actions’ and ‘Settings’? Or is ‘Actions’ missing?
If ‘Actions’ is missing, then the app was built on Glide Classic apps (the old version of Glide), and it seems unlink, duplicate, delete and import have been removed from possible operations on a Glide table.
It actually not the classic one. But i had one time trying to figure to find there’s a way using the =IMPORTRANGE matters on Glide Table. So i had tried to connect to Google Sheet. And now i remove the Google Sheet . Need to use fully Glide Table. But all data that in Google Sheet is still there even i remove data sources. So i don’t know how to remove / delete / unlink all unnecessary table because its a lot. Looks very messy.
All or most of the tables in your screenshot are old tabs from the Google spreadsheet? I haven’t worked with Google Sheets as a source in a long time, I didn’t know that when you removed Google Sheet as a source then the associated tables were turned into Glide tables.
Any chance you could add back the Google spreadsheet as a source?
No, i dont want because it will caused my app super duper slower…
Thats why i am working for second version of my app without Google Sheet.
Please anyone let me know how to remove.
I just did the following test:
After a couple of warning message that the data from the Google Sheets needed to be move, I still went through with removing the Google Sheet.
Expected behavior: I would have expected the tables associated to the Google Sheets to be gone, the associated screen to be gone, and that about it.
Actual behavior: I was returned to the dashboard and the app is gone.
Have you tried the unlink option?
Noo such inlink option:(
Yes, can see mine at first photo
@Himaladin
Biha’s tables, though they appear on his screenshot to be Glide tables, act as sheets from a Google spreadsheet. I think I’ve already seen this that the displayed icon from the table is off.
@biha
Before you do anything, can you make sure you’ve duplicated your entire app (project) and named it clearly. If your project is called ‘My App’, you could name your backup ‘BACKUP 2024-01-23 My App’.
Let us know when you’ve done that and we’ll try a few things. But do a backup first.
Thank you so much @nathanaelb , ok done backup. what can i do after?
I’m sorry, I didn’t pay much attention to the position below the image. Is this happening on all sheets?
No, not all. Only the tables that copied from the Google Sheets.
It seems a bit odd. I agree with @nathanaelb 's suggestion if there is no solution. Backup or duplicate your application to study its behavior.
So now return to your original project, let’s avoid trying things in your backup
If you see this warning, stop and do not proceed:
“Glide cannot remove your Google Sheet”
Try the following, but stop if you see the message above:
It seems that you’ve lost your data source. If I understand the issue correctly, you might try reconnecting your Google Sheet to activate the Glide table again for deletion.
So you don’t have Google Sheets as a data source, yet you have a slew of tables that act like they are tabs from a Google spreadsheets (yet they display as Glide tables).
I’m stumped This is probably a known bug that I had totally forgotten about. I have no memory and I barely use Google Sheets.
I would almost say try signing out of your Glide account, resetting your cookies and signing back in. But the fact that the old Google Sheets tables display as Glide tables make me think this is a bug.
Try the following:
Go the the layout editor and make sure all tabs/screens use a data source other than the old Google Sheets tables.
Go the the actions editor and make sure all actions use a data source other than the old Google Sheets tables.
But really this should be done before removing Google Sheets as a data source, not after.
