Hey. I am a teacher that has been using Glide to gamify my class. I have been using Glide for a year now and watched alot of videos and read alot of posts. I had 0 experience using spreadsheets when I started, but I learned alot this past year.
In my app there is boss-fights, but the equipment my students has is just weapons and magic to damage the boss. They themself are immortal. I wanted to change this and introduce HP, and armor to grant them more HP.
I dont know how to do this right. Lets say I have 10 HP from my gear and go in to a bossfight. I hit the boss and he hits me for 2 HP. I go down to 8 HP. I then use a heal-spell or health potion to restore 3 HP. I can get my HP to show as 10/10, but in reality its 11/10. When the next action happens and the boss hits me for 2 HP, I then go to 9/10, not 8/10.
I can also use three health potions when my HP is 10/10 to get my real HP to 19/10, even though it just shows as 10/10.
Is there a way I can get my HP to max at my max HP? So when I am at 9/10 HP and heal for 3, my HP is 10/10 and when I take 2 damage the HP is 8/10?
Sorry for this messy explanation. I dont really know any of the terms I should be using.
I imagine you can have a math column with a MIN between the health potion value and the max value you can heal (have another math column to determine that).
Then write that MIN value, not the actual value of the health potion.
If students use more potions then they should (the 19/10 case) then the HP would still stay at 10 and they lose the potions.
