Glide's new simplified + enhanced plans

This is correct. Only high-scale data sources like Big Tables can go past 25,000 rows. This is because spreadsheet data sources like Google Sheets and Airtable have performance issues above 25,000 rows

The 100k limit reflects the real-world usage we’re seeing from customers on the Business plan. If they need more, they can get in touch with us about an increase, same as they would on increasing user limits or update limits.

On these great points, will we be able to interconnect and seamlessly deploy the 3 apps from within each other? Like creating doors or windows into the other apps without a separate full launch.
If the interface allows for that, it can be very powerful.

The secret’s in the shared data, linking tables between apps.

this is great. I was actually thinking of different databases.
Using the example of a school… Having a student app for assignments, another app for field trips and related technical data, and another app for school events. Using different datasets in the background.
Or is it equally efficient from an app performance perspective to have all of this data in one larger dataset? I’m still hazy on what slows down an app’s performance.

@NoCodeAndy Please tell me. On the new plans, does Glide Big Tables consume UPDATES? Or is it UPDATE FREE like Glide Tables?

Updates aren’t counted on Glide Big Tables for Maker or Business plan apps. :+1:

That’s a great question for Ask for Help, actually, to get input on how to structure your data. There are different factors that affect app performance.

Using linked tables (let’s say one app for customers and one app for admin) doubles the file storage, as it is accounted by app instead of by table. Shouldn’t it be accounted once per table within the same plan?

:point_up_2: Fact.

I’ve observed file storage double, triple, and quadruple in a team just because an app is duplicated and referring to the same files (stored only once…all referring to the same storage url) in the same tables. If I duplicate an app within a team, I may or may not be duplicating the table data, but I’m definitely not duplicating the stored files that those tables are referring to. This has been an issue for a very long time.

wow. This is good to know and a huge inefficiency.

I’m surprised that the flaw hasn’t been fixed already given its impact.

When you see this are, are you duplicating the tables or linking the same tables?

@DJP I’m seeing it in both cases.

Here’s what I have currently in my business plan, which is already triple inflated because of 3 apps sharing the same tables.

If I duplicate one of the apps, keeping the same sheet, this is what I get.
image

If I further duplicate the app again, but choose to also duplicate the tables, this is what I get. This is now 5 apps all referring to the same set of stored files (mainly images and audio files).

In reality, I shouldn’t be using more than 3 or 4 GB of actual storage space.
I initially noticed the problem about a year ago when I was trying to convert my app from Classic to a New app. I was doing it in a Maker (Starter) plan and quickly exceeded my storage limit when I had two or three apps all referring to the same tables. Out of fear of having files automatically deleted, I held off on converting my app for several months until I had the business plan. Now I have wiggle room, but it’s still a problem if people are hitting the upper storage limit…

Thank you for illustrating! Could you DM me your Team ID? We can take a deeper look to fix how these files are counted

I’m building myself a single app for my own client login portal. They will have a lot of data each. Easily reaching 10k/20k each.

Would the row-limit increase come with additional costs?

Is the Lecacy business plan still ongoing?

I am still comfortable using the lecacy bussiness plan.

Are the row limits per app or per table? @NoCodeAndy

@Mikaeldorval row limits are per app.

I agree, it’s shocking.
