Hey guys,
I hope you’re doing well. I’m reaching out because two of our users are having trouble logging into our Glide app. They keep getting an error message saying, “This user does not have access.”
Steps Taken to Resolve the Issue
-
Verified User Email:
- We confirmed that the user’s email address matches the one granted access in the app settings.
-
Checked User Roles:
- The user has been assigned the appropriate role and permissions in the app.
-
Privacy Settings:
- The app is private, and the user’s email is on the whitelist.
-
Republished the App:
- Made minor changes and republished the app.
-
Re-invited the User:
- I removed and re-added the user and then sent a new invitation.
-
Cleared Browser Cache:
- The user cleared their browser cache and cookies but still couldn’t access the app.
-
Tested on Another Device:
- The user tried accessing the app on a different device and browser, but the issue persisted.
Despite these efforts, the user still can’t log in. Could you please help us troubleshoot this issue?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Best regards,
Are you on a Free or Maker plan?
The free plan, I’m making a personal app…
I used the validator, and both emails qualify, but the issue continues…
How many users do you have?
Including myself, 5 in total…
Does the usage screen in the Team dashboard reflect that you only have 5 users?
It says I have 3 personal users, but I still need two more users to login…
Not sure then. I guess I would double check the emails in the whitelist table. Make sure nothing is misspelled and there are no extra spaces.
Would you be willing to share the email domain for those two users?
They both use @gmail.com, I am using the gmail authentication…
I still am encountering this issue…
When I send them an email to log in, it has an unending login screen as well…
Are you on a Legacy plan?
No, I started the free plan about a month ago…
Hmm, I’m running out of ideas other than to double check that the table you have configured as your whitelist table is in fact the same table that contains all of the email addresses. Are you using the default user table as your whitelist table, or are you using a different table?
I created a user table where I store all the emails, I have done everything, and I still receive the error: the email address doesn’t have access to this app. Please try another.
I fixed it, just made it public, does this mean anyone can use my site?
Yes, a public app means anyone…including me…can use your site as long as I know the url.
I can’t think of anything else that would be a problem. Usually that message means the user is not using a personal email address, or they are not whitelisted.
Last thought I have is to maybe duplicate your app, unpublish the original, and publish the duplicate with the same url as before. Doesn’t sound like anything is misconfigured, but hard to say for sure.
If they use the PIN method, does it help?
