I contacted Support with the following issue:
“When I create a text with a hyperlink in the Glide AI component pointing to a website made on Glide, it opens a blank white page instead of the intended site. (hyperlink ‘Explore 2025 in detail’ on a screenshot)”
The response I received confirmed that this feature is currently not supported:
“I have confirmed with Engineering that the Custom AI component cannot open external links. It has to do with pop-up security. Just to let you know, what you are asking for is not a feature that we currently have. If it’s a new idea, create a topic and add your idea for others to vote on.”
I believe it would be highly beneficial to enable the AI component to support external hyperlinks, as this functionality is standard and works seamlessly in other components within Glide.
