1. Track after track playback - I realize this might be difficult to do in the “All” tab of a library, but maybe it’s more manageable in a “Favorites” list? Unless paused or stopped by the user, Track 2 will immediately play after Track 1 finishes. 2. Continuous playback while in the app - I know iOS will stop playing music as soon as you exit the app (Android continues to play in the background), but users would LOVE to be able to stream music in the background while browsing within the app. 3. Toggle between songs - The ability to skip and go back through tracks.
Apply tags to users according to its interaction with the app. Or even better to set per user counters in specific app interactions…ie…times an item has been seen…,.
At the moment I’m considering making an invite link that opens a google form (hidden variables are filled with variables from glide), person will submit and is sent to the glide app.
On the back end I’m pulling in data from that sheet to pre-populate some fields in Glide sheet.
Going to drop these here:
• App/Play store access - This is an app discoverability bottleneck, right now.
• Deep linking/externalization of app data - I would absolutely love if my users could embed/share their profiles via social media to “show off” their collections. Would be useful for them, and would provide a great, organic user acquisition channel.
• Automated way for a user to upload/import a sheet with lots of data that is matched to my columns and used to fill those columns (I have users using existing sheets to track large collections, and asking them to enter each item in that collection one-by-one is very painful for them).
• Automated way to export a user’s data via sheets (sort-of the reverse of above).
Idk if anybody already mentioned it, but I’m hoping for a “like dislike” overlay button, just like we now have the favorite.
It would also be nice being able to refer to cells in different rows with the math and “if then” features in glide.
Also, those formulas apply to all cells in that column. I’d like to see added the option to make one or more cells unique, could be helpful in some cases.
Library of screen templates and block templates (a set a multiple well-chosen components would create a “block”).
Data wrangling templates in the Glide Data Editor.
App template store: ability for users to subscribe to an app template, and a parent template can then push changes to children templates that were subscribed to.
Some sort of Temporary Variables storage(may be to pass on the next screen)
Local/In-App Notifications/Alerts/Badge
Hidden Fields much like Special Values to sheet but for different component. Example: on button click which opens external link, i should increment a column value.
So cool looking back at how many of these dream features have been delivered over the last six months
Up-level Billing & Payments for me would be so great:
Data editor column for price
Memberships/ Subscriptions
Marketplace payments through stripe connect
It’s a little messy sending customers out of the app. Plus Glide would earn more revenue from apps that are being used for commercial use, rather than hobby/ community apps.
and really expand the already incredible Glide possibilities
