Description
Hi everyone, I think I may have run into a bug with the Glide app icon on iPhone when saving the app to the Home Screen from Safari.
When I tap Share > Add to Home Screen, the tend icon preview looks crisp and clear. But once the web app is actually added to the Home Screen, the saved icon looks blurry/pixelated.
I’ve attached screenshots showing:
1. the install prompt within the app
2. the Add to Home Screen preview, which is also what the final saved icon looks like on the Home Screen
A few things I’ve already tried:
• re-uploading the icon
• temporarily changing the icon and changing it back to try to force a refresh
• clearing cache and re-adding the app to the Home Screen
• exporting and uploading the icon as a PNG in the recommended Apple app icon sizes
Since the icon looks sharp before install but still ends up blurry once saved, I’m wondering if Glide might be serving a lower-resolution asset for the installed icon, or if something isn’t updating properly in the icon/manifest handling on iPhone.
Has anyone else run into this? It seems strange that the preview looks sharp, but the installed Home Screen icon still ends up blurry/faded.
Thanks so much.
