The issue was also happening in the video and this morning on Bottom menu>Smiley icon. But it happens much more often in manage weights where there is an inline list with several items.
Were you working on the app at all when this happens? Does your spreadsheet incur a large number of writes at regular intervals? Were you somehow triggering those rows to increment rapidly?
I was testing the app so I was tapping on things that are supposed to be tapped ha ha. I was not just scrolling. Nor was I randomly tapping on things that should not be tapped. I hope that makes sense!
I am not sure exactly what you mean, but I will try to answer. I do not work in the builder at the same time that I am testing. No one else was in the builder at the time I was testing. I definitely was not tapping rapidly to force them to increment rapidly. It is never my goal to try to break the app, only to use it as a reasonable person would. I understand though, that engineers try to break things ha ha. I am not an engineer, so I definitely was just trying to behave like a user.
Hi @david I think I found and fixed the problem. It was a few image URLs that were really messy and were calling cached images, the URL was weird with all kinds of nasty strings in it. I downloaded the images and uploaded them to my server and have not experienced the freeze since, so hopefully that’s sorted. Thanks for a wonderful app!
It happens on pretty much all Glide apps that I have used. Last night the Glide Features app froze on me and I had force close and reopen multiple times @Jason, I believe this is a widespread issue. I either have entire app freeze, cannot click anything till force close and relaunch, or pages sticking.
@david the feature request app will not load at the moment. Even after hard close. Seen white screen on other apps. Typical after a little while whithout use
I posted about the Feature app freezing regularly in a thread somewhere as well with @Jason tagged. There are multiple threads about apps freezing going on right now. I’m sure Glide team is seeing them and pulling the entire picture together, but just wanted to mention it. My app continues to freeze as well but I have been unable to pinpoint any pattern.
I don’t get a white screen on Features app…just freezes and can’t tap on anything or move so I force close it and relaunch. @Krivo, you know a lot more than me about tech, but I do occasionally get a white screen on my app even with strong wi-fi, but I think the wi-fi “lies” or gets stuck sometimes and I have the Fios 1G. I turn it off on my phone and turn it back on and my app loads. Usually white screen and spinning wheel in my case are from the wi-fi not really working or being stuck. You can try turning off your wi-fi next time, and see if the app will load. Assuming you are connected to wif-fi when you experience this issue…
