Your concern is very valid and I think n8n cloud should solve pretty much on par with Zapier.
I actually self-host n8n because I do a lot of custom hacks using n8n. I can basically tune n8n to fit anything that I need. It works very neatly because I simply pump out data to my Glide sheet.
Most of my customers rely on me for their future needs too and hence it works for me.
I did quite few glideapps recently and use n8n for all data scraping, transformation,etc … pls check then out here

Yes! That can be done either by CRON node or a Webhook in n8n
