When a message is sent via whatsapp or similar a meta image is displayed:

Is it possible to extract this image link on a form submission?

You might have to use a service like Peekalink to do that (through an API call).

thank you, I just tried their tester but sadly it wouldn’t accept a number of webpages I sent to it.
