Upgraded to explorer so I’d be able to import a Google sheet with 4800 rows.
Tried to import into an existing app originally built while on the Free plan. Unfortunately I had the same limitation of 500 even after upgrading. I tried importing into a brand new app and it allowed all 4800. Spent weeks building templates and would prefer not recreating them.
Used Chat and Gemini for possible fixes but none were successful.
Any recommendations or is this just a known Glide glitch? Is there an easy way to move templates from app to app?
So it isn’t 25k? What message do you see when you try to, I assume, connect the Google Sheets directly to the app?
I ask because there’s a difference in connecting Sheets directly to the app (you need at least Maker to do it I believe) and importing the content of a Google Sheets workbook to a Glide Table.
No message of any kind pops up. It just simply caps the import to 500. Correct, I dont have Maker so not connecting using sync. But the Explorer plan does allow google sheet to upload rows of 5000 for 1 table. If I create a new app I can do this. But on the existing app I cannot.
Issue was never resolved. I had to start over completely and rebuild all my templates. Glide support did reach out a few days after I started the new app. Told them I didnt need the help but if they wanted to trouble shoot we could. Never happened.
A BIGGER issue that all readers should be aware of. Most of you will likely jump into a project and just start feeling your way around, like I did.
WARNING: Your layouts can be wiped out with a couple key strokes. After a week of rebuilding my app it was showtime. I decided last minute to add an image at the top of my layout. Followed the Glide AI and add a new component to top of my leaderboard layout. AI said to use a card component and source that to a table with my 2 photos. Did that. Came back to my leaderboard and every component I had previously created was gone. Several conversations with various AI sites suggest this is a known issue with Glide and I’ll once again need to rebuild the layouts.
Creators of Glide. How is this happening. What a failure.
I’ll edit if support is able to reverse this but otherwise, be careful!
