Actually I discovered a work around. I’ll just acquire static QR codes images that will point to the deep links in the app. Every so often when I update the app and cause a URL change I’ll just update the existing pointers to the new URL’s. Thanks for your attention to this.
Thin, just curious - is there a way to download the actual QR code images in bulk? I may need that feature as well.
I think you can use this. Copy the whole column of URLs, paste the list of URLs from your clipboard to the extensionn and see if it downloads correctly.
Didn’t work just caused the screen to hang. It’s alright I’ll just use a bulk qr code maker. Basically there’s not much utility from the QR code column because it doesn’t seem possible to bulk download the qr images.
But were you able to copy the list of QR codes from Glide?
Joe, do you know how to make a deep link open the installed app instead of the default web browser?
I dont believe that is possible due to the “installed” app being simply a bookmark of a website. Its like going to yahoo.com, saving the bookmark to your homepage and then expecting every time a yahoo link is sent to you, that its smart enough to open the bookmarked app vs your default web browser.
Not even sure if push notifications open the web browser or the bookmark.
Thank you fren.
I think it depends on the device/OS/browser and how they handle PWA’s. My Android phone is able to directly open an installed app from a link. It opens the app directly instead of opening the browser. Nothing special that I had to configure. It’s just always worked that way for me.
Push notifications open the bookmarked version, but at the moment it’s opening only the “home” page of the app instead of the deep link.
