Hello all

I have really a problem with Single Select field in airtable, replicated in Glide as text field

is there a solution ?

Single Select is an Airtable specific feature. Glide is bringing in the value that’s been selected. What are you expecting to happen in Glide?

If you are coming from Airtable, then the Glide Editor will seem less intuitive. As @Jeff_Hager said “Single Select” or “Multi-Select” or “Linked Records” are Airtable specific features. Any other database tool like the Glide Editor or Supabase don’t do this.

This means you will have to adjust your approach to using databases that are outside Airtable

As someone who has come from Airtable, I have a few recommendations:

  • Don’t use formula fields or lookup fields in Airtable as fields to display data in Glide. Why? There is going to always be a delay in the Airtable data being sent back to Glide
  • Data being sent from Glide to Airtable happens close to instantly
  • Data being sent from Airtable to Glide has a 3 (on Extra) to 5 minute delay

I’ll add more as I think of them. For now, just remember that Airtable makes databases look pretty and visual - that is their value proposition. Glide lets turn database records into apps.
