Sir,
I use free plan.
Please advise the difference between Send Email & Compose Email components as the default email client opens the email in both the cases with the similar fields i.e., to, subject body, cc, bc etc.
however, I noted that Send Email gives error /fails to open email client when clicked, if added to a button or Action text.
I have the body of email in a text file.
How can I incorporate it in the body of the email, other than by copying the text in the body of the Email component,
if I add the text in a in a column in the relevant sheet, it being very long, how it can be done?
thanks
vk
thanks sir,
I used “compose email” Action on “Email component” and observed that only when I use the custom field on email the email fields are filled with the appropriate data. It fails to pick up the column values in r/o subject, body etc. except the email address column which it picks up correctly.
the same happens when I chose button as component to send email.
what error is being done by me?

Sir,
the problem is that despite clicking the 3 dots and selecting appropriate column from the table the value is not being shown in the email subject, CC , body etc. only email address is being picked up correctly.
from your reply should I conclude that creating a template column is must to fill in the values?
pl. advise. and if so how to create a template column in my case.
thanks
OK, first of all, you added a Compose Email action on a component that basically already has a Compose Email action built into it. Where are you trying to set your email, subject, body etc.? In the component itself or on the action. See below that both have the same settings. Why are you trying to set an extra action when the component already does the same thing?
Show me where you are setting those values. You screenshots haven’t shown that you have selected anything, and since you have the extra action, Im not sure if you are trying to set the values on the action or in the component.
In my opinion, either set the action to none and use the setting on the component itself, or use a different component, such as a button, and then set the action on the button to Compose Email. I think the fact that you have added an action on the email component is what has led to confusion because the component and the action are conflicting with each other.
Your good self is right in pointing out the use of email component as well as composing email action is causing confusion. I corrected it.
But the problem of email component not picking up values from columns for Subject and Body stays.
I have tried button with compose email action, it does not fill column values either from Google sheet or from connected data editor table. I have tried Email component alone , but it also fails to pick up pre filled values from data editor table.
My understanding after lot of experimentation is that email component takes data reg Subject, Body only from
Built in Custom 2.user specific Template column.
If this is not correct, please cite a single instance with Google sheet/ data table with screen shot etc. where it picks data for subject and body from table column for my learning.
Thanks
