I would be useful to have an action run when app first starts on a users phone, similar to the startup items that windows has.

Super cool idea!
Would it run every time an app starts? Or just the first time? Or maybe the action can decide?

David- i could see it useful to select to run first time only, or each time the app is opened.

Agreed—and/or action upon log in—this is combination with set column (timestamp of last login) or send email (welcome email) would be nice.
