Is there any way to replicate the old functionality and view of “See all” for a Collection that is set to Grid and Vertical?
Here is what it used to look like and what it looks like now. I prefer the old way. I don’t think arrowing over feels like a natural interface on mobile.
You can limit the number or rows shown in the collection. Then add a rich text, action row, button, or some other component with a ‘Show New Screen’ → ‘This Item’ action. On the new screen, add a collection without any limitations.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I tried that, but I realized it won’t work for my application because I’m using “Group by” to display the two sections. If I use two collections, then I have to use two search boxes rather than being able to search across the entire list at once. Because of that, I’m not sure if what I want to do is possible. Thoughts?
Yeah, I think you are correct. If I recall, when you used grouping in Classic apps, then you could have a See All option within each group. I can’t think of a good way to reproduce that in New Apps unless you start building your own search functionality, but that starts to be overkill.
Okay, thanks for confirming.
Yes, in classic apps that is how it functioned. After rebuilding one of my major apps I’ve realized that there are quite a few things I miss from classic. There’s lot’s of great new features as well, but it’s unfortunate to have to deliver a downgrade in user experience in some areas.
I’ll try to search if this has been requested as a feature and add it if not.
