I have a collection in which I’ve removed permission too edit. But “Edit” still appears on detaiil screen. How can I remove it?
You have to remove the edit option from the detail screen as well.
Thanks Jeff, but I can’t see where to do that. On the detail screen I don’t see an option to remove those permissions.
Where is the edit button? Is it on a certain component? Do you have a screenshot?
I’m missing something. There is clearly a button, but I don’t see a component listed for that button. Is it safe to say that your title component doesn’t have any actions on it. If you move components around, does the button move too?
You’re correct, Jeff. There is no component for that button. I originally thought it was attached to the field component, but I deleted the field component we edit button remained. I cannot figure out what created it.
Here’s a screenshot of the collection showing where I turned off the edit permissions, but I can’t find anything like that on the detail screen.
It shouldn’t have anything to do with the settings on then collection. I think it’s a bug. I’m not sure what kind of support you have with a nonprofit plan, but it seems like something that should go to support.
You could try clicking on the components selection, right click, and select ‘Dekete All’ to see if it goes away. Another workaround would be to change the action on the collection to Show New Screen so you have a fresh screen to configure.
DELETE ALL was scary, but I think it worked. And I was able to manually add back the fields I needed. Thanks for your help.
