🤳 Populate a Form by Scanning a QR Code

:v: Hey fellow Gliders!

In this video, learn how allow users to scan a QR code to prepopulate a form screen using:
:point_right: A helper table
:point_right: A template column
:point_right: Get Part of URL columns
:point_right: Form container

I’ve used this method to create scavenger hunt activities, inventory apps, onboarding functionality, and time card systems.

There are several of variations you can do using this methodology (eg. use a form screen over a form container, create QR codes to deeplinks to different apps that use the same data tables, etc.), but the core functionality is the same.

 Enjoy!

Little stuck. So I added the “Show URL of Current Screen”, which is displayed in the Text, but when I add the “?name=Bob” at the end of my URL, it doesnt show the modified URL, only the base URL. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?

***nevermind, ended up working after I added a new screen

You won’t be able to see it in the builder, only the published app. Could that be the issue?

I was using a live site, so not really sure why the delay.

Hi Roberto,

thank you so much. That helped a lot. If I use this table/app without login for several users I would need to make user specific coloumns in the helper table, right?

Thank you

Bes regards
Sascha
