I wonder if all these people bemoaning their lack of knowledge/experience of APIās are aware that every time they use a service like Cloudinary or quickcharts.io, then they are interacting with an API
exactly. I canāt wait to play around with this after the girls go to bedā¦Iāll let you know what I discover!
For sure! lol
Canāt click on text entryā¦ seems greyed.
Iāll be testing it as well. Curious to see how it deals with the Golf API that I use
Same for me.
Sorry, fixed.
Ughāhate not knowing how to implement a new feature straight out of the boxāquick question, @Mark, are we able to use ready made APIs or do we have to build the endpoints ourselves? Is there a public, ready-made API that you know of that we can use for testingānot one custom built with Glitch?
This API column is pretty sick!
However, I donāt understand what server.js
is.
Hopefully, @JackVaughan can make a video soonā¦
Big long list of free public APIās here
Edit: But none of them will work (see reply from @Mark below)
These do not work directly with the API column. The API column expects a very specific interface. To be able to access any API weād basically have to build a little Postman inside Glide. Iām sure weāll do that eventually, but not anytime soon. In the mean time youāll have to write a Yes Code piece that interfaces between Glide and whichever service you want to connect.
Sorry Iām late to the party, this looks like its going to be alot of fun.
Heres 50 of the best free apiās of the year
And a huge list of public apiās
Thatās how all computed columns work. You canāt change a Template column into a Math column, either. Maybe I misunderstand your question?
Iām so glad thi is coming out after the christmas contest. We would have apps with so many apis in them we wouldnāt know what to do. Remember that payment companies like SQUARE do not charge to use their APIās for all of you looking for different payment methods.
ah, gotcha.
This is where I was getting hung up, then. Going to need to learn the basics of API I guess before I can leverage this column.
@Robert_Petitto I am in the same boat as you. If you find any good resources, please share. I will do the same!
Great, now to work to learn about API,
I was just beginning to understand MYSQL integration
Ok, so, Iām in the staging area and Iām looking for API and I see a damn FLOATING BUTTON, when we getiin some floaty buttons?
